Carlos Plazola, MES
President
Carlos holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Anthropology and Biology from UCLA, and a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from Yale University. He also has over fifteen years experience in community organizing, working in urban areas in the East Coast, the US/Mexico Border, San Jose, CA, and in Oakland, CA.
Prior to starting Terra Linda Development, Carlos spent almost seven years working for Oakland City Council President Ignacio De La Fuente as his Chief-of-Staff and his principal advisor on economic development issues. Carlos also worked for Congresswoman Barbara Lee for 2 years prior to joining President De La Fuente's Office in 2000. While working in politics and government, Carlos was also busy developing his own properties and investing in Oakland through his investment company, Turquoise Villas, LLC. Carlosí diverse experiences give Terra Linda a unique approach to development that brings together his passion for the land, for people, and for building great projects. |
Laura Blair
Attorney/Broker
Prior to joining Terra Linda, Laura practiced litigation in state and federal court with an emphasis on land use and real property actions. She also is an experienced community organizer, working with neighbors and residents to improve their neighborhoods.
Laura previously worked for the City of Oakland as a Deputy City Attorney and as a member of the public law project, Neighborhood Law Corps. Laura is a licensed attorney in the state of California and also has a California Broker license. She graduated from University of California, School of Law, Boalt Hall in 2003. |
Monica Molina Plazola
Operations Manager
Monica brings her leadership and diverse operational experience to Terra Linda after spending ten years in non-profit management. Monicaís experience includes: financial management, strategic development, systems creation, human resources, and operational and administrative support. Monica earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Stanford University. |
